Clock projection
At the Aalsmeer branch projected clocks are used to auction both flowers and plants, in Naaldwijk they are only used for plants, and at other branches digital clocks are still used everywhere. The large, clear projection screens can display more information than the old-style clocks, such as the supplier’s logo and a photograph of the products being auctioned. There is also a list of the next five lots to come before the clock. This provides buyers with additional information on which they can base their purchase decisions.

Image auctioning
Image auctioning is also used for some product groups. In this case the flowers and plants are not brought physically in front of the clock, but sales are made on the basis of photographs and other information. The main advantage is that flowers and plants can be delivered to the customer directly from cold storage.
